Good Morning!
The Crew is off in the dinghy to go conch hunting. They ended up with 4 mature Queen Conch. Then Captain Thomas showed them how to clean it and then they got to taste it raw.
We always eat really well on board Ciganka. Tonight we are having NY strip steak grilled by Captain Thomas, homemade steak fries and sweet potato fries, big fresh salad, and homemade insanely delicious brownies!
Yesterday we got to enjoy 2 big dolphin playing at the bow
We have have not had any wind all week. But this morning we woke up to about 10 knots from the south. Enough to at least hoist sail and move. So the crew had their first lesson in getting Ciganka under full sail. Every crew member has their specific job and have to all work together to get this ship underway. Because of the light wind we were moving along very slowly until several squalls were forming around us. So the winds increased and we spent the morning tacking back and forth out running the squalls. The crew had a blast as they rode the bow sprit with their buddies under full sail cruising along at 7 to 9 knots! It ended up being an awesome sail!
And yes Mom, they do get “Joy” showers every night!
I think we are wearing them out ~
