First things first with learning the knot to tie up your hammocks, the sun tarp, snorkel bags, and halyards.
Two days of calm winds opened the door for some spectacular snorkeling. Sandy Cay Reef was so incredible the crew snorkeling it twice on 2 different days having a late afternoon dive then the following morning the best dive most of these people ever had! These Florida boys are definitely water people and make the most of each snorkel. They had Pelican Cay all to themselves and would rather climb the coral rocks than play on the beach….. they have enough beaches in their own back yard.
Finally the winds came up and we got our first sailing lesson in on Monday afternoon. Their second sail was Tuesday morning with a quick squall passing over us. Gave us a few moments of fast sailing! They have a few more days to get “slick” at their sailing skills. And they love hanging out with their buddies. And some Scouts are lucky to have Dad on board.
And they have done some fishing…..no catching yet though ~
Lookin’ good Troop 23 boys and men!
Love the pictures! Looks like so much fun…wish I was there!!!
Wow. Cool adventure. Catch any fish?
No fish yet. I’ll give these guys an “A” in tenacity for trying. We did get 6 Queen Conch and made a wonderful conch spaghetti dinner that they all really enjoyed. We have one more day to catch a fish…wish us luck ~
LOVE the pics!!! Make the most out of everyday. You guys are very lucky to experience all of this!!
I hope Father’s Day was a blast. Tell the guys to wear sunscreen!
