| Venture Group – Roanoke VAThis happy group showed up ready to learn, relax, see the islands, snorkel and swim the waters, meet new people, and get a tan. They accomplished all of this! The group dug in under Captain Thomas? instructions, and hoisted sails. We had a pleasant sail over towards Man-O-War Cay and anchored behind our ?own? island for the night. The Easter Bunny had even found his way aboard ?Ciganka? and left colored eggs and candy for all of us. Happy Easter! Sails are up again and we had a scenic sail along the shore of Great Guana with bodies spread out all over the deck. Let the tan begin! The Easter Bunny had even made his way to Bakers Bay and we had an egg hunt as we walked through ?Jurassic Park?. The hike led us to the ocean side of the island where we snorkeled the reef and enjoyed the wide sandy beach. A cold front was approaching so we went to Water Cay for a protected anchorage. We had an adventurous hike on Water Cay and were greeted by the island diplomat, Mama Pig and her piglets. We rustled up some delicious food scraps for her and everyone was happy. To round out the full sailing experience for the group, we ran aground under full sail with a storm approaching. The tide was coming up so we were off again and all was well. Due to a hard cold front that would blow for several days, we sought a protected harbor in Hope Town. Hope Town really captured the heart of the crew (in more than one way). They enjoyed the history, the lighthouse, quaint colorful houses, meeting other boaters in the harbor, the ocean side reefs, the beautiful white beaches, the resorts, and the shopping!! For all of us the week passed by too quickly. The friendships and gifts we shared will always be treasured. Thank you!
